Modern Warfare 3 Review

Infinity Ward (creators) summary of the game:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (stylized as CALL OF DUTY: MW3, and also known as COD: MW3Modern Warfare 3, or simply MW3) is the eighth main Call of Duty game, and the fifth developed by Infinity Ward. It's the sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and is the final installment in the Modern Warfare series.

My opinion of the game:

In my opinion this is by far the most addicting, fun and exciting game I have ever played and today is still my favorite game. If I had to choose between the newer more futuristic games and MW3, I would choose MW3. The amount of fun I have had playing this game is amazing. The remastered addition to MW3 is coming out in the new game Infinity Warfare, now that might just be the only reason I might get the game. I personally don't really like the futuristic games too much so I would only get Infinity Warfare for the MW3 add on. I mean don't get me wrong the new games have very nice quality gameplay, but in the end I still think that the older games are more fun to play even if I have already beaten the game.

Campaign
Starting with the campaign, which like other modern warfare campaigns is a globe hopping experience that puts you in the boots of several different soldiers. The campaign takes you to places like New York City, London and Paris where there are full-blown wars being fought. I personally think that the campaign is very well put together, starting from the first modern warfare. It follows the story line throughout the entire campaign and does a really good job of not boring me during any of it. The story line is during World war II and you are a soldier along with another soldier trying to retrieve the president and his daughter from a terrorist before it is too late. Video link:

Spec Ops
Special Operations or Spec Ops is another very fun part of the game to play. It is a set of fast-paced missions that are meant to challenge you on how strategic you are while playing the game. There are 23 levels of missions to play, which you unlock by completing one mission to unlock another. The difficulty can be set to recruit but as you get further into the missions, they will get harder either way.
My favorite part of Spec Ops is survival, which I generally play with a friend since it is two player. The goal of survival is pretty obvious, it's to survive as long as you can. While playing survival you
go through waves, which in each wave either the other soldiers are harder to kill or there is something added to the wave to make it harder o survive, like attack dogs, helicopters, suicide bombers or even fully suited juggernauts. There are things that you can purchase that can help you survive these like sentry guns, SWAT teams, Delta teams, predator missiles and more. There are many different maps to choose from and my personal favorite to play at is Seatown, which provides you the most cover out of all the other maps. I have survived with up to wave 50 along with a friend and besides it taking forever it was very fun.  Here is some gameplay of Spec Ops:

Multiplayer
Multiplayer is the most played part of the game which is no surprise because thats why most people who own the game bought the game. Multiplayer for me is the best part of the game because you get to play with people all across the world and listen to little kids rage when they get killed. When playing online you have to rank up to unlock more things, like when you level up to a certain rank you unlock a gun for example. When you are fully ranked up you would have unlocked everything possible in online. Also when fully ranked you have the choice to enter prestige mode which resets all your classes and your rank but unlocks emblems and tags for you to show that you have earned you stripes. Online also offers many different game modes to choose from like Team Death-Match, Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag and much more, which my favorite is Team Death-Match. Online has it's pros and cons, for example since the game is fairly old now people still do play it but to them it is getting boring so maybe they want to make it more fun and mod or hack the game. This is fun for them but for the people on the opposite team who might not be able to kill them because they have invincibility on it definitely will not be fun and I'm pretty sure they wont like it. (Luckily Xbox allows you to report people who do hack or Mod).

My summary vs Metacritic's blog summary:

  • Call of Duty Black Ops 3 to me is a very fun, fast paced, addicting game. Which the creators of the game, Treyarch wanted it to be. I've had the game since it has been released, which was back in November 2015. To me the game is still very addicting and fun when i play it. To me the saying"The more the merrier" is the best reference for this game, the more of your friends you play with the better experience and more fun you have while playing. The game is futuristic and most people that play video games will be able to adapt to this very quickly. The characters in the game have body suits that enable them to do what normal humans cannot, like jump fifteen feet in the air, run on walls, slide and maintain a special ability, all while keeping control over their weapon.
Metacritic's summary:
  • In Black Ops 3, Treyarch introduces a new momentum-based chained-movement system which enables players to fluidly move through the environment with finesse, using controlled thrust jumps, slides, wall runs and mantling abilities in a myriad of combinations, all while continuously keeping full control over their weapon. Maps are designed from the ground-up for the new movement system, enabling players to be successful with traditional movement, as well as with advanced tactics and maneuvers.

What do the players think about this game?
  • In my opinion the game is basically what I said before, its fun, fast paced and addicting, just the time of game I like. The basic game to me is fine to me, it is just like the other black ops in the series. The game has it's pros and cons though:

PROS:
  • The game feels like Black ops not advanced warfare.
  • The movement is very fluid and not too fast.
  • The specialists keep the game interesting.
  • The new game mode safeguard is great.
  • No panic knife anymore.

CONS:
  • Spawn trapping happens often because it is easy to do.
  • Takes long to rank up.
  • You need a pretty good ping to play online multiplayer.

GTA V online remains one of the most played online multiplayer game for a long time and fans are hoping that recent behind the scenes may be leading to a new DLC into the game. The blog EXPRESS explains this further:
More GTA 5 Online Update have been promised for remainder of 2016 from the Rockstar development, with many believing it to be a Biker expansion pack.
Code has been uncovered that suggests Biker-themed freemode events are being worked on for launch, which also relates to some kind of VIP and CEO tie-in.
A new DLC has been reported to be in the works for GTA Online for launch in September, and fans have recently spotted something has proved important to the release of new DLC in the past.
The Grand Theft Auto 5 game Qabeta branch has been updated on Steam; the last time this happened was apparently before the release of Cunning Stunts, around two months ago.
The GTA 5 community who follow these events carefully seem pretty confident that we will see a new DLC announced very soon, either on September 14, or 15.
It would mean a potential launch is on the cards for the this month, with September 20 mooted as the most likely date.
There is no guarantee that we will see a Biker DLC launched this month, however, it certainly has proven to be a popular idea.
A recent petition was setup by fans who wanted to see new Biker content launch on the game. The “Bikers of GTA Unite” petition was signed by over 17,000 fans and includes a long list of suggestions.
We, the united Bikers of GTA Online, who are loyal customers, supporters and fans of the GTA franchise, have come together to request a proper Biker DLC package from Rockstar Games!
“We have been ignored long enough, and we feel it's time our needs are respected. What we ask for, we do not expect for free, as our dedication and love of this game can be portrayed in our willingness to pay for such a long overdue DLC content update for the GTA V online mode.”
“We deserve quality modifications, designs, paint jobs & livery, if you won't give us our own shop, then open up Benny's to choppers and we'll pay for upgrades to our bikes,” the petition page reads.
My opinion:
I like the game very much, i play for hours on weekends with my friends. We play adversary modes, team death matches and many more game modes. I find the game very fun but it has its ups and downs. More ups then downs for me, because of all the vehicles they have for me to choose and i'm a car/boat guy so i like the selection. The downs of the game are that it requires at least 15 Megabits per second or Mbps to find a game with people in it that doesn't have to much lag. In the end i still love the game as it is and will continue to play it until and after the new Grand Theft Auto comes out.
